It’s been my tradition to start each cycling adventure along the C&O canal towpath with photos at mile marker zero. While there are mile markers every mile along the towpath, there are no signs to guide you to mile marker zero. In addition, the marker is difficult to find since it is at the end of a narrow foot path behind a boat launch. It is so far off the beaten path that the first few times I cycled the towpath I wasn’t even aware that mile marker zero existed.
