Eliminate Hand Numbness

This simple trick can eliminate hand numbness while cycling. With long hours in the saddle, my hands would sometimes get numb, especially while riding on rough roads. Although padded cycling gloves helped, they weren’t enough. Fortunately, I found an easy solution to this problem by double-wrapping my handlebars with handlebar tape. The increased diameter of the handlebars provided a larger contact area that helped to more evenly distribute the pressure points on my hands. In addition, double-wrapping also increases the cushioning to reduce road vibration. Hand numbness is now a thing of the past for me while bicycle touring.
